Project Updates

Fall Semester 2021

After the approval of our grant we have collected hundreds of acorns from around the Salem area. We were delighted by the amount of community outreach wanting to connect with us about their oak trees and we thank all those who let us collect from their property and homes. Back on campus, we have been organizing and potting acorns. Currently, we have about 900 potted acorns that are growing into saplings. We have held several events throughout the semester to educate others about the species and for volunteers to participate in acorn collections.
